Airdrie Minor Football Players Ready for 2018 Alberta Summer Games

With football season peeking around the corner, all the local teams are getting ready for what they hope will be a successful year on the gridiron. First up on the agenda though is the 2018 Alberta Summer Games.

The 2018 edition of the Alberta Summers games runs from July 19th-22nd in Grand Prairie Alberta. The best of the best of Alberta's football players will compete in a 3 game tournament to crown a champion. Eight teams will compete in the tournament with games starting on Friday July 20th. Airdrie is part of the Zone 2 Big Country Football team which includes players from Drumheller, Cochrane, Springbank, Hanna, Strathmore, Langdon, and Okotoks. Airdrie has 11 players on the 35 man roster that will head north this Thursday to do battle on the gridiron.

Josh Christman - Offensive Line
Adam Mosher - Defensine Line
They open the tournament this year against the Zone 1 team from Southern Alberta. Big Country played Zone 1 to start off the 2016 Alberta Summer Games losing 20-14. With a much more rounded team this time around. Head Coach Chris Glass is excited for the challenges that are ahead.
